I dance because it lets me share a flexible reality. In dance I live the aesthetic and social experiences as one thing.

I am interested on thought processes allowed by movement and the diverse ways these can be shared and communicated through different performance and composition qualities.

Themes of my works are migration, the body as a public element, transition, territory, public space research, based both on my personal experience as a migrant artist and observation and study.

Some of my works can be performed as installations while others are meant to be performed on stage but always inhabiting the specific new space in which it takes place.

Dance as my main tool dialogues with multisenory material enriching the work by my own visual creations as well as by the collaborations with artists on diverse disciplines.

I also make choreography and perform for other artists´projects.

My practice of Qigong, Kung Fu and the Alexander Technique are constant sources of research on the body and the social processes that inspire my works.

Specific information about projects, performances and collaborations can be found in the menu of this web site.

I’m interested in human behavior and the use of the body in daily life and its various possible contexts, and the effect of the individual experiences of body-mind in the interaction among people and the organization of societies. Looking at perceiving and composing as part of the same activity, action seen not only as an external image or effect, but as composed of sensory appreciation, emotion, decision, and thought. With this in mind I work combining my Alexander Technique, martial arts and performance practices.

My works are mostly based on long-term research processes originating diverse aesthetic and conceptual approaches within the same frame of inquiry. Therefore many of my projects are conceived as coming out of each other as a kind of mamushka system, which inevitably brings more depth in the content of the research and more clarity in its aesthetical product.

I am inspired by actions like imitation, the relationships between transiting and inhabiting, and the limitation and exploration of movement by mental patterns made conscious and I work through diverse media like dance, performance art, video, photography, writing and drawing. Lately I am having access to virtual reality tools to challenge my enquiries on behavior and presence.

My goal is to deepen my understanding of behavior and movement by exposing certain parts of the research processes on stage or gallery, and in this way enlarging the layers of observation. My works intend to involve the audience in this research processes by using common experience and emotional response to aesthetical activities.
