Mass Hysteria

by Two-Women-Machine-Show

Mass Hysteria explores the mass hysterical symptoms within choreography, what is also known as ‘unison’. The piece reveals both empathetic and apathetic aspects as the two women on stage perform the exactly same material, thus discovering their very own and unique group hysteria. As a foundation the piece is built around a collection of video’s found on youtube.com that portray real, mass events, which the duo re-enacts as ‘found material’ in a live-art context.

Mass Hysteria is both a plastic representation and a real crowd symptom. A state of multiplication and mass production.
